Bata Branch in Bacolod

August 17, 2018

Finally, a Bata branch had been put up in Bacolod, the 9th store in the country of this over-a-hundred-year-old company that has its roots in Czechoslovakia.  Over 5,000 branches in 72 countries carry on the Bata tradition of manufacturing stylish, class, ageless, and dapper footwear and bags.

All the hallmarks of good taste can be found in Bata.  Subdued colors, comfort over form, trendiness with a leaning towards timelessness, and affordability vis-a-vis durability. Did you know that Bata had its first store in the Philippines in the 1930’s?

Here’s a testimony from a French friend. “I love Bata.  Just for your information, Bata brand had been the shoes provider for the French Navy for many years and it was strong shoes made with nice material, I still have them in number 1 shape since I left the Navy in 1998.”  – Denis Laumon,  patissier.

I have friends who, in elementary school, try to wreck their Bata shoes  just so their mothers can buy them a new pair.  The naughty ones did not get their wish because their Bata shoes outlasted their student days.

The Bata brand is popular all around Europe. Of course!  Bata has been in existence since 1894.  For anyone travelling there with an eye to go shopping for Bata should not find it difficult to locate a store.  But why go to Europe when the Philippines has stores and the company’s goal is to put up more and more Bata branches.

Bata is at SM City Bacolod North Wing.  Bata has partnered with SM Shoemart for most of its stores in the Philippines.
